For my hand and wheel project I threw a bowl for fun and then added hearts on to it. I glazed the hearts red and so when I eat my food I'll see the little red hearts at the bottom. It's really pretty and I love it. Just how hearts are a symbol of love!
For this project I was making a cool bad but then it ended up breaking on the bottom so I decided to make it into a frankenpot. I then added two more mini vases with the same form as the big one and attached them together. With th glaze I faded it from light to dark to make it look good. For my lidded project I made a rounded case with a lid that sits inside the case rather than outside. This is more like a honey pot. I think it's really cute. I then for the glaze used purple and white so that the top fades from dark to light as it goes down the project. For this project I just kind of went for it. It's not a very good first attempt but I simply made it like a planter and then connected the two pieces. I then carved Mt Si on to it with little paw prints. Go Cats! I made a series of vases like that to get fit my form theme. Unimpressive glaze but I finally got the technique of choking enough to make a little Nozel on top. The second is a little wider and has a much better shape. The glaze of different colors also looks really good contrasted with the dark inside. The third one is my favorite because I like how deep the glaze is and the form is really nice. I made a cup with a pulled handle. I did this for extra credit and then did an ocean theme for the glaze. It starts with sand and then to the ocean and then outer darkness. This is my wheel altered project that I bent the lip in to make it wavy. I then colored it black dark green and light green with a swirl in the middle. I love waiting for it to come out of the glaze kiln and being surprised on how it comes out. Mac and cheese bowl. The glaze got all hot and kind of exploded in the kiln. This made it so there are glaze in some spots but not in others. The texture is really cool and I liked how it turned out. For this plate I used white which sucks right now but did a very cool technique. I attached the bowl to the wheel and then dropped the yellow glaze onto it. But then someone got blue all over it :( This is my set of three. It consists of a plate, a cup, and a bowl. All glaEd with white, free, turquoise and blue. |
